Sue Coker, 77, of Oblong, IL passed away at 3:19 a.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at the Heritage Health, Robinson, IL.
Born on December 18, 1937 in Hazen, Arkansas, she was the daughter of William Porter Hudson and Lorene (Galloway) Hudson. She was married to Archie Gordon “Sunny” Coker and he survives.
Sue was co-owner, with her husband, of Archie’s Place in Oblong for 7 to 8 year; a greeter at Wal-Mart; manager at Kentucky Fried Chicken; manager of Dollar General Store, all of Robinson, IL.; and former secretary at Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton and Robinson for many years. She was a former member of the Oblong Chamber when she co-owned Archie’s Place.
Survivors include her husband Archie, of Oblong, IL.; son and daughter-in-law Greg and Theresa Coker, Newton, IL.; daughter and son-in-law Kristine and Jeff Shipman, Oblong, IL; her sister, Peggy Thompson, Junction City, Arkansas; seven grandchildren: Kelsey Shipman, Zack Coker, Karley Shipman, Peighton Coker, Kassey Shipman, Alan Coker, and Gage Coker; several family members and special friend, Sandy Coker.
Preceding her in death were her parents; one brother, Bill Hudson and one sister, Betty Snead.
